Sooner or later you have to go to sleep and face the reality of the choices you make each day.

Many clients often ask me about what the right thing is to do in a situation that is troubling them in life. When someone asks me this question, he or she already knows the answer, they just do not want to do the right thing because it works against their self-interest.

Are your core values, such as honesty, integrity, fairness and the believe in treating people as you would want your kids treated, dead in you? Asking what the right thing to is a question that often is too late. You knew, stalled, tried to justify, and lost your way

The test for all of this is you can hide doing the wrong thing and hurting people, or taking unfair advantage by assuming the other person is too busy, but sooner or later you have to go to sleep, and those five minutes before you pass out is when the reality of what you have done is magnified. You cannot hide from yourself, and what you did is who you are and there is not enough booze in the world to permanently cancel that out of your head.
