Do You Live up to Your Own Talent?
Are you living your life or someone else’s dream of what you should be?
Few people live centered within themselves. Living within yourself means your motivation comes from the chase to become what you can achieve using your talent and given gifts, but you, and you alone, make the choice how you live your own life.
Living a life driven by external motivation is the path to a wasted life and personal frustration, one led by a person existing to live someone else’s dream or way of life.
The question to ask is are doing the work you love, or are you doing what you feel obligated to do, because someone else told you, or perhaps used guilt to force you, into believing this is what you “should” be doing in your life?
This obligation or pressure from others goes beyond work. Where you live, how you live, who you live with, are all life choices others in your life will attempt to dominate and direct.
There is a young female manager I worked with through the years as a business coach. She is talented in business, has a fitness training background and manages a small chain of big box gyms that do well financially.
Her conflict comes from her support group. Support groups are always a mixed conglomeration of spouses…
