Hi Joe, a thoughtful note from experience... thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. You also triggered another thought for me. I see on IG reels from artists who turn their works around slowly and state, quite proudly, I spent 60 hours on this piece... and it is still horrible. I recently visited the Michelangelo interactive exhibit where they featured art from his day by him and others, and you hear a good painting might have taken years to finish, or longer. In most everything these days, including writing, we want to be good because we want it, not because we have earned it. Most writers to me simply won't do the work it takes to master their genre. I was shocked in my last graduate school adventure, just last year, where fellow students want to be poets but haven't read anyone except some pop star who inspired with one questionable book. I think it takes both Joe, one must master and do the work, but also must persevere to be read. Nice post, you got me going on this one. Thank you again. T
