Hi John, I came out of the business world, a presenter on the road about twenty weeks a year, and started writing more poetry during the virus. My advice is read many different ones to help you find your voice. I used to go to the songs of the singing poets too for inspiration, but I don't want to sound like anyone but me. I have offered lists of the story telling poets in some of my other stuff, which might be you since you like the folks such as Dylan. Find them all for free on Poetry Foundation and if you like them you can add the books to your pile as I do after I explore. yes, Elizabeth Bishop only published about a 100 poems, but here imagery is wonderful. Try Raymond Carver poetry too, master of the story art. Keep writing my friend and hope to read more of you soon. T
