Hi Tom, I was, and still am, working in the fitness industry as a business consultant. I attended a lecture years ago and the guy said old age is built one day at a time. One of his examples was that his day got to be 60 and got stiff hips from sitting all day and had trouble tying his shoes. The lecturer said his dad had a choice that day, one we all face each day. He could have sought out help, such as taking yoga, working with a trainer or something else to loosen him up, but his dad simply bought slip on shoes... or as the guy said, he made a choice that day to accept being old instead of fighting back. I fight back everyday Tom. I lift weights several times per week, preferring kettle bells since they develop more movement, take long walks 3-4 times per week, started back to college when I was 67 for another degree, eat well and see a doctor every six months to manage my health. Every day is a choice and every day I choose the path back to feeling younger. How hard is this? It takes work I admit, but watching people my age hanging off the back of a shopping cart because they are too weak, and maybe too lazy, to walk upright, scares me into trying harder. How easy?? A 10 day out of 10 because it is simply a thousand small things adding up to feeling younger. Sorry about the rant. Email me if you want the name of a few good books and people to follow. T
