Saying goodbye to my best friend, Dog
Dog, and there was never another name even considered, you became my best friend the day you arrived as a pup, but now, 10 years later, I have to say goodbye my old friend and thank you for just being the perfect dog you were.
Dog, you outlasted three girlfriends, and four moves across three states, never once bitching about my choice of music, driving or choice of bad food along the way.
Old friend, you never said no to a workout, road trip or slow walk around the park. There was always just one more adventure even until the last of days.
Dog, you were only arrested once, resulting in a small fine to get you out of dog jail. This Dog, was far cheaper than getting my friends out of jail through the years, loaning my brother money, or putting up rent money for desperate buddies just kicked out of their apartments.
My old buddy, you sat outside the shower and sang along, just the two of us, badly crooning old rock songs from back in the day. If only the retriever next store could play the guitar?
You hate cats, I hate cats, making us best friends forever, but eliminating a possible girlfriend or two through the years, but still, no cats forever sister.
Dog, you have only eaten one couch, and you were right, the new one is better for naps and football.
